Since 1999, Kaydean has kept his audiences captivated with his trademark sound. His cross genre releases include A New Dawn (1999), Hypnotek (2000), Renacimiento (2000), and Wisdom (2001). Spanning New Age, Adult Contemporary, Rock, Ambient, Techno and Trance, Kaydean continues to reinvent himself with each new release.
In 2001, Kaydean crossed the commercial barrier with his ground-breaking release WISDOM. Finally acheiving broadcast radio airplay across the country with his Messiah and No Sleep singles. Kaydean also received consistently positive press coverage at this time. While he was enjoying his mainstream successes, Kaydean was under scrutiny from die-hard fans who felt this comercialism was a watered down version of the notorious underground Kaydean. Kaydean has since returned to his roots, DJing in underground venues and has promised a new release which is more faithful to his roots.

Why this name?
I met a really cute baby boy once, who's name was Kaydean. At the time I thought It was an extremely unique name that reflected my music. After having a couple of releases under the name and building the recognition over years, I later found out it was a girls name. A little too late to do anything about that now, huh?
Do you play live?
I am preparing for live performances to begin later this year. Currently, I'm working on my sets with many of my idols and am very excited about the prospects of going out live again.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
When I first answered this question, my answer was all about leveling the playing field. Since then I've learn that the internet is an extremely powerful resource. It will never eliminate the current industry or any other industry, but if used properly, can increase your overall brick and morter performance.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?

Your influences?
I've always taken a piece from everyone. Enigma was the first to blend instrumental soundscapes with dance beats, while Pink Floyd had these awesome melodies and chordal arrangements, Genesis also knew how to keep you interested in a 10 minute song for the whole 10 minutes and of course JimmyJam and Terry Lewis know how to come up with those kick ass beats. These guys always have some extra details going on in the background that you never hear the first 5 times.
Favorite spot?
That's a good question. I think my favorite place to live in, is NY.. but Chicago has some really great food and Puerto Rico is definitely one of the mose beautiful places I have ever been.
Equipment used:
I use Earseph Studios exclusively. They have the Mackie D8B board, Emagic Logic Audio tons of sounds. I'm in love with the ESX-24. And they have excellent outboard gear. The best sounding recording studio I have ever used.
Anything else...?
Peace and much love to everyone who supported me in the previous releases. Your support and love is what keeps me going.
