True story: JD Carlson (vocalist) was sitting in zoology taking a test and was labeling parts on a fish. He drew on the fish, being his current object of enmity since it was part of his test, X's on its eyes so it was DEAD. Then it dawned on him: Exes For Eyes.

A band named One For Every Star formed in early 2003 with Aaron Crum, Tim Struve, Stefan Wright (guitar), JD Carlson, and Dan Perez. That band evolved from OFES to ExFE and transformed their style of music summer of 2003, which is also the time when Stefan decided to quit the band. Early 2004 Tim eventually found himself lacking time enough to fully commit to the band so a thought to be temporary replacement, Joe StRomain, became the permanent drummer. Which brings us to date JD, Dan, Aaron, and Joe make up Exes For Eyes
