Why this name?
Our mission is to raise the level of FUN in music.
Do you play live?
General Jo and his groups used to perform in the Hampton Roads area. We are still forming our Phunn Phactor touring band.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
Equalizes the marketing, by making unknown and little known artist the opportunity to be heard at any moment around the globe.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
If the deal is right. Having so much fun on this small label right now.
Band History:
I can't believe that we've been doing this for 20 years now--- and that our original vinyl records are now being bootlegged in Germany!!!
Your influences?
Afrikka Bambaata, Cybotron, kraftwerk, Art of Noise, Herbie Hancock, (also record labels such as) Motown, Philly International, Stax, Solar, Sugar Hill, Tommy Boy.
Favorite spot?
Where I am
Equipment used:
Roland MC505 Groovebox, Alesis QS6.1, Ensoniq EPS, assortment of other modules including early Roland gear, Oberheim Matrix6...
Anything else...?
General Jo is trying to blend Classical, Jazz, Soul, and Electro music into a fun and danceable sound that all members of the family can enjoy together.
