Rev. Dara "Darin" Leedale Gilbert is a powerful and anointed Preacher, Author, Music Producer, Recording Artist, Musician, and Songwriter.
Why this name?
It's my name. LOL!!!
Do you play live?
Studio recording is wonderful, but my passion is to minister live before God's people. Any event that I am invited at to minister, if the Lord wills for me to do so, I'm there (having church).
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
With all this technology floating around, you can basicly record a song on Monday and about a million people can have complete access to it on Tuesday (Monday night even). So, mp3 is and the internet is totally indespensible.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Whatever the Lord says is good enough for the me.
Band History:
He was born February 13, 1977 in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Raised in the church, he took a real shining to gospel music and began playing the drums in the church by the age of eight and soon after for several local gospel groups throughout the city. He actually began playing the drums at the age of two when he would get two of anything that could be used for drumsticks and start beating on furniture and making makeshift drumsets out of his grandmother's what-nots and coffee table and basicly whatever else he could find lying around the house.
From the age of four, D.L. would find himself making up songs about anything that he saw, whether a bird flying in the air or a car horn, or a bicycle, or anything that would come to his mind. It wasn't until 1993 that he would realize his Divine gift of being a Songwriter, when he wrote his first worship song, "Everything To You". Raised in the church, D.L. had full exposure to the world of gospel music. He learned how to play the keyboard at age 13 and formed his first gospel ensemble by age 18. D.L. was always fascinated with two things: MUSIC and MINISTRY!
By early adulthood, Rev. D.L. Gilbert had grown both musically and spiritually, having served in his local church in capacities from Musician, to Usher, to Deacon, Sunday School Teacher, Sunday School Superintendent, Music Director, Choir Director, Minister of Music, Church Elder, and ultimately Assistant Pastor. He now stands as a licensed Pastor earning his Bachelor's Degreee in Ministry at Pillar of Truth Bible Institue. Rev. Gilbert's humble vision is simply to Apostolically and Prophetically "preach God's Word, produce God's music, and prepare God's people" for a soon-coming Savior, that God will be glorified and His people would be fortified!
