Brutal, fast, aggressive, relentless, pounding, blasting music from Augusta, Maine. Necropia is mixing a lot of Metal styles; Extreme death metal, Black metal, Melodic metal, Old School Thrash, Doom, and with touches of progressive and orchestral/acoustic pieces as well.
The core of the band and its music will retain the intense brutality expected in Extreme Metal, but Necropia will further extend itself in more tasteful and sophisticated passages to add texture and depth as a frame for the onslaught of brutality set forth pre-dominately in the core songs.
You can expect insane double bass mixed with hyper/bomb blasts, rediculous fills, and pounding grooves from the drums.
The guitars are a thick and crushingly heavy wall of sound. The riffs themselves are at a hyper-speed that are partly hypnotic and mesmerizing, and part is flat out brutality and speed. The solo's are a whole other entity; borrowing from the shred school of guitar heros, as well as the furious, chaotic, recklessness that sick metal has to offer.
The bass holds the sick riffage of the guitars along with added harmony lines, while maintaining the locked-in grinding with the drums. Then add some freakish bass fills and solo parts.
Vocals are all sick. No emotional singing parts, nothing here for commercial radio. What you get is gutteral low growls, evil black metal screams, violent and aggressive bursts of gurgling and vomitous lyrics spewed forth. With plenty of sick back-up vocals.

Do you play live?
NECROPIAplayed some shows in Maine. One with Cephalic Carnage, December, The Red Chord, and others... We'll be booking more shows soon.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
It allows a lot of underground bands, and unsigned/unfunded bands to gain recognition and attention that they normally would not otherwise. Of course free downloads are FREE, and you can get a good general idea of what a band will sound like. But its no substitute for a LIVE SHOW, which sets the bands/musicians apart from those who can't duplicate (let alone intensify) a recorded effort!!! A band can get more attention through the net, but to hold the attention, bands need more than just a fancy website and a few mp3's. Obviously there are benefits and downfalls of online marketing, but a series of good, consistant LIVE show speaks volumes for itself!
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Depends on if it was a contract that could HELP the band out. Cut out the middle-man right? Why sign a contract with someone when you could do everything that they propose to do for you, for yourself?
Besides Metal music is not pop music. You play it because you LOVE it, not because you want to be rich and famous.
