Shun started at the age of five performing Southern Gospel music. At the ages of ten through sixteen, Shun had opportunities to sing and play the piano with some of the top Southern Gospel acts in the business, such as the Kingsmen Quartet, Inspirations, McCameys, The Crabb Family and The New Hinsons. Kenny Hinson is still Shun's biggest gospel influence.

In his later teen years, Shun moved into the country scene with musical influences of Hank Williams, Jr., Toby Keith, Merle Haggard, Johnny Paycheck, Waylon Jennings, Kid Rock and David Allen Coe. Shun also has been writing his own songs and music for several years. The songs you will hear on this site are self written and produced...Happy Listening!!
Why this name?
Shun is his name by birth, however on stage he has earned the name "Bigg Shun".
Do you play live?
Shun takes every opportunity to play a live concert. His most treasured moment was winning the "2003 Songwriter of the Year" which was judged by Nashville's own Stacy Earle and Mark Stuart.
Another great moment was getting to meet David Allen Coe on July 4, 2001 in Tunica, and Hank Williams, Jr. and family at his home on September 22, 2003 in Paris, Tennessee
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
The internet and MP3 gives amateur's like me a chance to get their songs out to be heard.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Of course.....In the words of "Bigg Shun"...."You D**N right!"
Your influences?
Hank Williams, Jr., Elvis Presley, Toby Keith, Merle Haggard, Johnny Paycheck, Waylon Jennings, Kid Rock, David Allen Coe and most of all Kenny Hinson.
