Michael Novick is a regular performer on the New York City acoustic circuit.
Band History:
Born and raised in suburban New York, singer/songwriter Michael Novick has been writing and recording original music since the age of 11. Possessed of a powerful, expressive singing voice, Novick has built an impressive catalogue of quirky, heartfelt songs, which showcase his lateral intelligence and clean, melodic acoustic guitar playing. With influences ranging from Suzanne Vega and Leonard Cohen to Paul Simon and Peter Gabriel, his distinct, impressionistic sound is difficult to categorize but instantly recognizable.

In 2003, as a third year medical student, he began performing at clubs and cafes in New York City, quickly becoming a regular on the circuit and earning a reputation for emotional, artistic shows. Dr. Novick, now a radiology resident, still finds to time to perform regularly and maintain an extensive web presence. A published writer, he employs his gift for free, natural prose in frequent essays, journal entries, and gig diaries on topics ranging from the music of Fiona Apple and Elvis Costello to the murder of two teenagers in Missouri.

Novick's homemade Demographix CDs are a perfect introduction to this consummate artist. Catch him on the way up.
