3rd option is the recording project of Martin Krijgsman, Dutch guitarist. The music is influenced by all kinds of music, varying from Rock to Jazz, from Folk to Funk. The songs have their focal point at making a song, instead of focusing merely on technical musicianship.

The name 3rd option reflects the fact that it's never only black or white, yes or no, and that there is always a 3rd option.

Do you play live?

Yes, but not as a soloperformer. I play and sing in a dutch rockband.

How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?

I hope so. I like the way the internet makes it possible to reach an audience. I like people to enjoy my music. Rule of thumb for me is: if someone else makes money with my music it's fair I get my share, otherwise: enjoy.

Would you sign a record contract with a major label?

It depends. I'm always in for a good deal.

Your influences?

Practically every guitarplayer I know, but a few stand out (though I'll never be anywhere as good): Michael Lee Firkins, Steve Lukather, Joe Satriani, Steve Morse.

Favorite spot?

Anywhere the sun shines.
