Hailing collectively from Los Angeles, CA,
the Ambulance is a tightly knit alternative
metal trio produced by System of a Down songwriter/producer/guitarist Daron Malakian.
Spit flies from the speakers as the fusion of the raw, maniacal, angst driven talent of vocalist/guitarist, A.J. Lopez , founder and song writer for TheAmbulance since 1997 with Abe nesbitt on bass and guitar and Ronen Gordon on drums

Why this name?
My dad shot him self in 1996.The sound of a ambulance near by lead me to his remains so I decided to call my band TheAmbulance in memory of my fathers cry out for help.
Do you play live?
we have played over a 100 times at least in Los Angeles alone. I have played at clubs like TheRoxy, TheWhiskey, TheTroubadour, TheKeyClub, TheViperRoom, TheHouseOfBlues,TheFillmore. My favorite bar to play at is The SceneBar. I love playing live, I thinks thats my favorite part. A special moment was when Daron Malakian ran on stage at the Troubadour and started singing a tune I wrote with me. Pretty cool!
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
I think the internet has and will continue to change the music industry very much so. I think soon people will not even have to leave their home at all for new music. Soon I'm sure everyone will have a printer that just spits out the insert. Who knows?
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
It all depends. I think it really has to do a lot with what the label is really willing to do to get your name out. I would if I new it was a chance to get my c.d. out world wide and I would be able to promote my album on tour to kids all over.

I listen to all sorts of music. A few bands I love are Ministry, FaithNoMore, PailHead, NineInchNails, Nels Cline, SystemOfADown, Primus, Jimi Hendrix, Nirvana

Los Angeles
Equipment used:
I use a Roland DJ-70 to trigger my samples live and a rat pedal, delay, pitchshifter, mesa boogie, esp vb, sg
