Dollar Bill and The Unmentionables has been recording slightly silly music since 1989. In 2010 we started making videos to stare at while the song plays. Genre: varies, sometimes within the same song even. Be sure to check out the video page, as many of the songs have super high-budget (i.e. $0) music videos
Why this name?
Dollar Bill was almost Bill's real name, but his dad lost the argument. The Unmentionables are people who randomly help out - mostly Bill's band-mates from other bands he's in such as "Velkro Merkin" and "Bill and Dave". Any "Unmentionables" are listed in the song descriptions unless I accidentally forgot.
Do you play live?
Live appearances are rare due to insufficient arms to pull it all off, plus Bill has medical issues besides the obvious mental ones.
Your influences?
Weird Al Yankovic, Frank Zappa, Mr. Bungle, Vivaldi, Devo, Bad News, and whatever catches my ear this week.
Equipment used:
Depending on the age of the song you're listening to, it could have been recorded on anything from a Tascam cassette 4-track, an ADAT or two, direct into my Triton, or a Korg D3200. More recently using an old computer to record, for that new-retro sound.
Anything else...?
