A new brush fire has been found blazing its way out of the South in the form of MC/Producer J-Blaze, blazing out a trail for the rebirth of Hip-Hop. What happens when you blend honest lyricism, infectious flow, and marketability?
You play with fire!
J-Blaze draws from the social relevance of Tupac, the lyrical genius of Notorious B.I.G., the versatility of Jay-Z, and the “realness” of
Nas as his lyrical influences.
So, if you wonder what has been missing in Hip-Hop . . . It’s been J-Blaze.

Why this name?
My name starts with a J and I'm here to blaze out a new trail for Hip-Hop and music. I'll dare to be different, I'll dare to be lyrical, I'll dare to be marketable and learn from, but not completely follow what everybody else is doing. So, in doing that, I've got to bring heat to burn out a new trail. . . J-BLAZE.
Do you play live?
I love to perform and I'll do it anywhere for anybody. I like to call myself an entertainer, not just an mc. I will bring a full show and it doesn't matter if it's for 1 person or 1 million people, I will always give 200% in my performances.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
The internet changes the music industry by one, making music available to everyone and allows "cross-exposure" of several different genres to different people of all demographics. Also, the internet/mp3's forces musicians, artists, and record label to step up their game and put out good "albums", not just good songs. People aren't willing to pay $15 for 3 songs anymore, not if they can get it for free. But, they will support good music and good albums.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
I would love to sign with a major label. I would like to not only get an artist deal. I would also love to get a distribution deal for my label, "Blazen Records", in that I am a businessman in all that I do. And I'm just the first of many to come on the Blazen Records label.
Your influences?
