Ric"Bluesfuze"Arra was the top blues artist for 6 mos on mp3 .com in 1999. He has had half a million or so downloads of his tunes and sold hundreds of CD's. Bluesfuze also works in 2 main bands The Lady A Blues Band which is a quartet with the smokey Lady A on Vocals and Harp. The Big City Blues Band a six piece soul and blues outfit.
Both bands have played many major festivals and shared the stage with everyone from BB King, Coco Montoya and Walter Trout to Bonnie Raitt.
Here on Sound Click Ric will showcase his live band and studio recordings with both bands.
Good Blues To Ya
Why this name?
which one?
Bluesfuze was coined by the band leader from KC and the Sunshine Band for my sometimes incendiary playing.."watch it you may light that fuse and blow up"
Do you play live?
Yes
all over Florida from st augustine to key west with both band as well as the caribbean.
and as far north as chicago.
Love to play live.
I believe "Take me Back' is special because it was totaly improvised from some shows I saw with Coco montoya, as well as a few girls I new. Meeting Pine Top Perkins was very special because he played with muddy and can still tell some stories as well as play his ass off
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
It gives independents a chance to sell their music to the masses
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
depends on deal I was with a label but they did nothing for us so we waited out our contract and split
Your influences?
My influences are so many these days from playing big shows and seeing what really goes on.
Used to be Eric Clapton but now there are many more
Favorite spot?
Islamorada
Equipment used:
Fenders EC strats and epiphone les pauls and fire birds and 335s
