Jessamyn Orchard
NEWS   Listen, if you've clicked the "News" window, then you're probably moderately interested in my music, which makes me incredibly happy. The truth is this: I am presently recording a new CD called "The Friendship Confidential" and I hope to have some sort of system set up by the time its done so people can actually get their hands on it...and none of this stuff like I've been doing, which is telling people I'll send them one and then not doing it. Its really happening. I expect the album to be finished sometime next month. That would be april. Check this popup for more information. Also--check out my homepage for info as well. www.jessamynorchard.go.cc

I just want to play music, and that is difficult, but not impossible when I live in a very musically-oppressed area of the country. Please support local music, wherever you live...its the heart and soul of the future of art and the epitome of free expression. Pay a couple of bucks and go see a local band you haven't seen before. Show your love.
Why this name?
It is pretty much my name name...not just my band name. How exciting is that?
Do you play live?
I play live wherever people support local music. That is what it is all about. Local bands are where the heart of modern music is...end of story.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
mp3's allow everyone to get their sh*** out on the market...and that's awesome, especially in areas where there aren't any labels or really anything dealing with m usic. It can allow us to grow as musicians as we can be exposed to criticisms and therefore be exposed to outlets of growth. And growth is one of the most important aspects of musicianship.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
hmm...
Band History:
I started playing guitar when I was 15...that was 5 years ago. I've been writing poetry since I was in 3rd grade...and some pretty depressing sh*** it has been. So anyway...now I still write depressing sh*** but the only difference is now I have some sort of concept of how to play 3 or 4 chords on the guitar...kinda.
Your influences?
the constant drama in my life and the life of all of my friends is pretty inspiring...my suck ass college inspires me a lot.
Favorite spot?
FLAT ROCK...off the beaten path in South Central Missouri. Makes me want to be a better person out there...seriously. Nature in its essence. Missouri Nature is really great. Rivers, "mountains", and all that good stuff.
Equipment used:
I play a Seagull acoustic guitar and my God-given voice...which has been corrupted since the introduction of Camel Lights to my lungs and vocal cords.
Anything else...?
Please listen to "Circles on Bikes" and tell me what you think. Chances are, if you're on here, you're probably a musician trying to get your own name out there. I love and accept criticism.
