Why this name?
when we were getting started in 1995, Bobby
Fisher wanted Donna's name in the band title.
she was uncomfortable with The Donna Rapp Band,
so she came up with a word play on dominatrix.
hence DONNAMATRIX !!!!!

Do you play live?
no we've become a virtual band, with 4 members in NJ
and 2 in Florida live playing would be tough
and 2 in Florida live playing would be tough
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
well the internet is a beautiful thing.
we've been exchanging files with Rich
in Port St. Lucie Florida... you can check out the results

Band History:
Donnamatrix was formed in 1995.
we put out a s/t CD-EP that year, that
got some air-play.
the dj, who played us first, is Julian Belanger of
CJAM University Of Windsor Canada
http://www.cjam.ca
the first DJ to completely showcase DONNAMATRIX
is Mike Sirofchuck on his show FreeForm Radio
KMXT FM 100.1 Kodiak Alaska.
http://www.kmxt.org/
http://www.geocities.com/SunsetStrip/Hall/5952/freeformradio.html
CDR releases include.
"Monster Cat" first EP with Rich Razzi in 96
"Cybersphere" 2nd EP a look @ the more ambient
side us, as radio play started building "Livid"
finished #54 on the Gagiarchives TOP 100 of 99
http://www.gagliarchives.com/99top100.html
thank you Gagliarchives fan
Cyberia our full length CDR also featured "Livid"
becoming #1 at Radio Free Kansas for 6 weeks,
in the summer of 99.....
http://www.tafcommedia.net/
charted respectfully with a few other
Progressive Rock Radio shows.
Late in 2002.. DONNAMATRIX enlisted guest
musicians, to help us out. Elton Dean,
saxophone legend and favourite of mine,
sat in on 2 songs along with his guitar
mate Mark Hewins, who helped us with
his talent & co-ordinating efforts @ his Studio
in London called MUSART.
then we approached Guy LeBlanc, Canada's
greatest keyboard man (IMHO), to help us
on 4 songs. Guy was monsterous for us,
helping us out between his Camel gigs, Nathan
Mahl & solo committments. he played feriously
and took no prisoners ...
and for the cherry on top of the sundae
we contacted Chris (ETHERFYSH) Christou
to add some sonic textures, on keys, to a couple
pieces. Chris even contributed a song
for us called "Higher" that Donna penned the
words for. Donna Chris and continue
working on a side project to this day.
in 2003 we released a CDR-EP from these sessions,
called "Cool Lynx" which received air-play at
at least 15 radio programs, both on the air,
and on the net.

Your influences?
Hello : as a band our influences are so varied
to mention so we will probably rotate band members
in this spot. as a drummer I've been influences
by a lot of great ones, but my first love was
Ginger Baker, who I saw three times in CREAM.
Michael Giles,Bill Bruford, Pip Pyle, Robert Wyatt come to
mind next. currently I'm really into the avant
side of listening so I've been listening to, MAGMA's
Christian Vander, AHVAK, 5UU's, PRESENT, THINKING
PLAQUE's, Dave Kerman. I must say in advance, that
I don't play anything like these men, I just admire
their work.

Favorite spot?
home is where the heart is... corny but true.
Equipment used:
In the studio, I use The Roland V-Tour Kit
with the TD-6V sound module.
Live I have a Pearl Kit with a vintage Ludwig snare.
I use Sabian & Zildjian cymbals.

after 10 years together 95 ->05 Robert Fisher and
Rich Razzi both moved to Florida, and the Vampire studio

of 99 for 6 weeks, on Radio Free Kansas was big. Playing with Elton Dean and Mark Hewins on 2 songs. having Guy LeBlanc in on4 numbers... and for Donna working as a partner on a project
with Chris (Etherfysh) Christou. thanks to over 15 DJ's who
were a huge help getting name out to the WWW. especially
Julian Belanger, who played us 1st. Mike Sirofchuck who
dedicated a whole show to us. and many others ie
