David Gurak, creator of the Bad Night Network, has been writing songs since the winter of 2001, when One Night's Story was born. He tries to bring more than what emo fans are used to by incorporating different styles of music into different songs. ONS does have a distinct sound, but some songs are more punk influenced, while others have, oh I don't know, maybe more of a southern rock sound. ONS even brings back the 'oldies' style in his song Andrea. You guessed it, that song was written about Threading Clovers singer, Andrea Dennis, who lends her voice on some ONS songs. Anyway, they don't call him "Styles" for nothin'. Well, ok, so the nickname was ripped off of Teen Wolf, and it's mainly because he can occasionally be seen sporting a cowboy hat and aviator sunglasses, but hey.. we can pretend it's because of the music, right? Right?
Why this name?
When I wrote my first song, it was originally called "One Night's Story - Too Late Tonight" It just kind of worked itself out that way.
Do you play live?
Of course.
Your influences?
Seven Mary Three, Butch Walker, Spoon, Dashboard Confessional, One Night's Story, Threading Clovers, Bad Night Network
