Why this name?
BLS is a shorting of the name BOTTOM LINE SHINERS...the meaning is the same just rolls off the tongue smoother!
Do you play live?
BLS has performed live throughout Texas and Louisiana. Most recently they opened for Mystikal as their major stage debut in front of 7,000 plus new fans. They received a standing ovation and an invitation to tour with No Limit in the summer of 2002
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
The internet and especially sites such as mp3 are extremely important for indie artists. The availability of outlets such as this can be the extra piece which can spell success or failure for new groups. Major labels have to respect these sites and often comb them looking for new talent, makes the job of A&R reps much easier.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
We would still sign a deal with a major dependent upon the structure of the deal. Major labels can provide important pieces to the promotional process for an artist and have established relationships with media, video and radio outlets indies have a hard time reaching.
Band History:
BLS consists of two members Lil B and Lil Spree. Both members are 21 and were born in Opolusas Louisiana. The group has been together about 6 years and have signed to other indie labels which went under due to bad managment however, their solid work ethic and will to succeed have brought them to regional and international attention as opening act for Mystikal and other hot artists.
Now signed to BREAK YO SEF RECORDS, BLS will be the next attention getter coming out of the Dirty South.
