Wiz

This 18 year old rapper captivates ears wherever his voice is heard. With both parents in the military, Wiz traveled to places like Virginia, various parts of New Jersey, North Carolina, and to places some people won’t see in there entire lives, like Alaska. Although very far away from home, Wiz brought his Newark, New Jersey swagger and positive attitude everywhere he rested his head. Now he’s in college back in Jersey paying lost dues. Even though he didn’t stay in the hood as he was growing up, his parents who are direct descendents of Newark, and his family who are still in Newark, play a big part of who he is today. He experienced the streets without living in the streets, and it shows in his style of rap.

Wiz is what you would call a realist. He writes what he feels, staying true to his heart, but also looks out for the fans, as he rhymes with playful and catchy wordplay. He is also a perfectionist and dabbles in anything music related. He currently writes and produces for himself and other artists. Some are born with the gift of gab, but Wiz’s gift is his ear for music.

Why this name?
Wiz - Wiz is a person execptionally gifted or talented, and that I am

JaQuest - Jaquest is a nickname that stuck

Out-of-Townaz - Out Of Towners are what we are. Both of us rested our hands in different areas, including New Jersey, Alaska, and Virginia, shedding a little light at each stop.
Do you play live?
I have performed live, and will perform live again after I get settled in New Jersey.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
It's a stepping stone for unsigned arists, and since computers are slowly taking over, it's good to have reliable sources to promote yourselves.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Of course, as long as the contract is thorough.
Your influences?
Too many influences, Kanye, Hi-Tek, and Premier are my most influential producers. TOOO many rappers.
