Akshun is an emcee and producer from Charleston, West Virginia. His company, AKshun Entertainment, was developed to create good hip hop music with messages to elevate and entertain.
Why this name?
I used to freestyle constantly at school. One day I was spittin something I kept hearing Redman- Time for some Action in my head. I just switched up the spelling of action to AKshun and its stuck .
Do you play live?
I want to create a live hip hop band similar to the Roots, but right now I am just working with equipment.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
It has made it easier for everyone to create music of their own and express themselves.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
It depends on the contracts characteristics. I want control over my work so currently I am producing and distributing all of my work.
