Why this name?
I want people to know who I am as a real person with a passion for living and sharing that zest for life. I pride myself in the creations of new music and songs. I am a published poet, 4 times editor's choice award winner for poetry, written articles for magazines published worldwide, even short stories, and I'm a public speaker as well.
Do you play live?
Right now I'm more interested in marketing music through recordings. The most special place I played was North Mississippi Regional Center in Oxford, Ms.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
I think it steps up the competition and gives musicians a chance to market their music relatively easy. It quickly exposes the world to all kinds of new sounds and creations. It's great!
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Right now, my idea is to write and record and do something in this business in the shadows; so a recording contract would be great by itself.
Band History:
Played with a band called The Thacker Mountain Band for awhile. Worked up an act with another musician as a duo for awhile, but have mainly played alone through the years. I have played Christmas parties, hospitals. I have mainly played solo and I've been busy writing and playing for 30 years.
Your influences?
The Beatles, Buck Owens and Buddy Holly and Jimmi Hendrix and Chuck Berry and Carl Perkins, Peter Frampton, Johnny Rivers.,, AC/DC, Wow, it's hard to name everyone who deserves credit for influencing me. How could I forget Elvis Presley and Johnny Cash, C.C.R. The Eagles, Roy Orbison, Bruce Springsteen..
Favorite spot?
Smokey Mountains and the oceans and beach spots such as Gulf Shores in Alabama or Destin Beach in Florida. But, really, any private quiet place where there is peace and my wife is there.
Equipment used:
Gibson SJ 200 and my favorite Epiphone Dot/block electric.
Anything else...?
I've been playing guitar, singing and writing songs since I was 16. I was brought up around music. I've written around 100 songs. I'm working on my next Album now. Life is good and fun. These are the best days of my life. I hope you can feel the excitement in my music. finished 11 new song for my CD project for 2011. Have plans for a Blues CD in the future.
