Hi, Headband are Keith on Vocals, acoustic guitar, electric violin, kbds.
Finlay (Feet) on Lead Guitar, midi guitar, planet phatt, zoom drums, chaos, bass and computers.
Dave replaced Stu on Bass Guitar and keyboards when Stuart emigrated to Australia.
We swap around and play each others instruments just to mix it up. Guest to teh studio join in for a jam to give new blood and inspiration. We don't currently have a drummer but that's not a problem in the studio as we have great drum machines. Live gigs, we can find a drummer.
We make up most of our songs on-the-fly, this way it's more spontaneous. Some songs have a bit more thought and planning in them, but mostly it's just all "off the cuff" stuff. (call it improvisation).
Why this name?
The "Headband" has been around for a while and most of our stuff is unpredictable. It was also the name of a demo cassette tape we recorded many years ago in the woodshed where we used to Jam on a Sunday afternoon.
Do you play live?
Occasionally we will do play at a party or gig if invited. We played in bands at school and pub bands over the years but got fed up doing "Covers". Dave gigs regularly just to keep up his weddings portfolio !!
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
It makes it squeal! More choice, more free music. Less Influence from the 'business'. Great for expression from non-commercial songwriters and artists. Better for the listeners - it's mostly free.
New things coming, some strange some useful.
Where will it all end?
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
I Would need to be a very attractive deal for me to give up my day job. I guess we would if the rewards were promising.
Band History:
Feet: Lead Guitarist, I started playing guitar back in 1970 when I was 12. I used to Jam with KB when we were in our twenties. Played with a few bands at school and after school. Also on occasion as a stand in bass player after than. Prefer writing and playing original music to doing covers. Interested in effects and sound technology.
Plays : Gibson SG Voodoo swampash, Rickenbacker, Ibanez + shadow midi pickup, Rickenbacker 4000 Bass.

Your influences?
Influenced by many many different styles of music, guitarists and personalities.
I like Blues, Reggae, Rock, Heavy metal (Sabbath , Ozzy, Jimi Hendrix), psychodelic rock :Hawkwind, Floyd, Robert Fripp of King Crimson, Robin Trower, Frank Zappa, AC DC,ZZ Top, Motorhead, Ronnie Montrose, Sammi Hagar, T.S. Macphee (Groundhogs), Alex Harvey Band and the old progressive stuff from GreenSlade, Genesis, and the old Blues and Jazz Blues of BB King, E Clapton, Cream, Deep Purple, Rock : Metallica, Nickleback.
More lately I like Madonna (who shares my birthdate), David Blunt, Alanis Morrisette, PINK and some more recent emerging artist... ?? I also like to give soundclicks unsigned bands a listen.

Keith likes Freddie Mercury (Queen), David Bowie. Robbie Williams and Chris Rea, none as talented as Keith. He actually makes up the words as he sings, to music he's never heard before. neat? The musicians don't know the song either so that makes for some interesting influences to creep in to the direction and tone of the piece.
Favorite spot?
Barcelona, New Orleans, Glasgow.
