an acoustic emo/indie/rock solo project.
Why this name?
Burwell is the street name that I lived on when I lived in Bremerton, WA as a toddler.
Do you play live?
I have once. It was fun, I would do it again.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
It's great for promotion. But I do think some people take advantage of the mp3s and peer to peer file sharing to pirate illegal copies of cd's and etc. as far as making mix's and stuff like that, I don't mind at all. the mp3 revolutionized how artists communicate and gain a fan base throughout the world.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
It would never happen. I'm not sure if I would do it. I wouldn't really want to tour around the country or anything. I've got school and stuff to worry about. I have fun doing things how I am now anyway... it's all about having fun and enjoying yourself!
Band History:
I started playing guitar and writing songs in early 2001. Then my solo project was called One Fine Mess, and started out as a 'one man band' project, where I was recording a full band instrumentation to my songs.
Well, that was too much of a hassle, so I just started writing songs that would be meant for acoustic guitar and vocals, and re-do some of the other songs for that arrangement as well.
When I stumbled across a local Massachusetts band with the name One Fine Mess, I figured it would be easier for me to just change my name and try to think of something a little more original than finding an oxymoron from a list.
This is when I came up with Burwell. When I was a toddler, about 2-3 years old, I lived in Bremerton, WA. The sreet I lived on was called Burwell. I have fond memories of living there and it was good times, so Burwell seems like the perfect name for my project.

Your influences?
Hmm, this is a tough one. I'm not sure there are many influences in my actual music. But some bands I listen to frequently that maybe some hints of them come into play in my songs would be the beatles, mae, mxpx, feeling left out, etc etc.
Favorite spot?
anywhere that I can be with my girlfriend.
