Started September 2006, initially MixWaves was composed by 3 members:
MDashK, creator of the team, Zeru (his best friend, no longer a member), Erik JS (a big brasilian friend) and Strikker (a good friend from tha internetz!).
Together in team, our objective is to simply create music.

Over the time, Erik JS and Strikker made some musics, but because of personal issues, they started to lack time to create musics. Even I lack the time and nowadays my activity has been pretty low.

I guess MixWaves evolved in a way that, today, it's not a 3 member band anymore. It's more of a 1 member band that features works of some friends has well. Kinda like lots of the musics that exist nowadays like "This Guy feat. That Guy"... I mean, I could change the band name to MDashK and nobody would care (laughs). But no, I created MixWaves and I intent to keep the name that way.
Why this name?
Back in 2005, I started to make music for try out and entertainment. After a couple of prototype tracks, I figured that was time to create a name for the supposed "band" that created the tracks. Back in the day, I didn't use the nickname MDashK.

I was with Zeru in his house, we where hanging around the PC, the internet, the PlayStation 2 and the music program that we use to create the tracks. At the time, my PC was too slow to handle the music program, so i had to use his PC to create the tracks. We went to school together, and after classes, almost every day, we would go to his house to play PS2 and hang around the web. That day, I just had finished the latest prototype and talked with him about creating the band name. Initially, nothing came to our minds. Until I looked into the desktop of his PC and found out a folder that he had called mixwaves. And it clicked in my mind. Just like I clicked in the folder to find out what it had inside (laughs). Inside the folder, only a bunch of various musics from various artists. Inside my mind, it was the band's name.

And so we decided to name it MixWaves. Also, Zeru didn't cared too much, because at the time, he wasn't using the music program at all. He only joined in and made some tracks after a couple of weeks later. So he was like: It's your tracks, it's your band. If you like it, use it.
Do you play live?
Nah, we never played live, and honestly we have no intention. All our tracks are made for fun and entertainment. And also, we want no profit at all.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
It makes a huge step to the future and to the artists. And for me and MixWaves, helps us distribute our tracks. Always free of charge of course.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
I dunno. I mean, like I said, I don't intend to make profit out of MixWaves. I guess I didn't mind to sign if it was like: OK, I sign, but I want my tracks to be always free for download and all the income must be from donations only.
