Been playing music with formal training since I was 11.
Why this name?
"JG" stands for Jr Gooden. I am named after my father, Othello Gooden Sr. I have relatives and extended family that call me JG. The "Traveler" is taken from a song I wrote in my senior year of High School entitled simply, "The Traveler".
Do you play live?
Live: In years past with a band. Now, at talent shows hosted by my relatives and extended family. It is always enjoyable.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
More and more artists can put there music out there. In my opinion, record companies can be picky, yet sites like Soundclick and many others (including YouTube) is like having record deal (depending how successful you are as an independent musician).
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Only if they offer me more than Soundclick and YouTube.
Band History:
I'll sum it up like this...

Played in a Piano Guild when I was younger, also in a televised Pianothon (Piano+Telethon... Go figure! :D), composition concerts in high school, in shows with extended family and relatives, and at times paid depending on the type of crowd we play for!
Your influences?
Various.
