Airplay International's Country Group Of The Year - 2003
Why this name?
The band was originally called The Bridge with really just two original members, Charley Frehley and Jerry Baldassaro. After we signed with KMA Records in Nashville we had added a full-time band and change the name to The Bridge Band. Now we're returning to the duo format with a worldwide tour in the planning as the Bridge.
Do you play live?
Yes we do play live all the time. We play clubs and festivals
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
The internet has gotten us fans in over 80 countries. Without the WWW we'd still be playing in our basements.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Depends on the deal.
Band History:
The Bridge Band is centered about the original music of songwriters Jerry Baldassaro and Charley Frehley - they deliver a sound that is embraced by audiences world-wide. The Bridge Band Band’s intricate guitar work transcends ones perception of how two guitars should sound. The individually unique finger styles of Baldassaro and Frehley weave themselves into a totally new sound . The Bridge (Band) was a regular part of the famous Fast Folk Cafe scene from 1994 until it’s closing in 2000. With three CDs under their belt, their music is now being played in over 80 countries . The Bridge was chosen "Country Group of The Year "2004" by Airplay International - an amazing feat considering Country wasn't their bag.
Your influences?
Our influences are numerous - from the Eagles and America to Gordon Lightfoot and CSN and James Taylor.

Anything else...?
Review – Alexis Berman -Planeta Rock Magazine – September - 2003
Album -Headin’ Home – The Nashville Session
Artist – The Bridge Band (USA)
Label – KMA Records Nashville
The leaders of country and folk without any doubt are the North Americans. Since the 60’s they have continued to place themselves among the best musicians in the world in a genre influenced and created by them.
Like many of the groups The Bridge Band was born out of an eagerness to keep flame of this genre burning as the best representatives of the past had – although nowadays it is often performed and watered down in some regions of the US.
With a country style akin to Lightfoot and The Eagles and the folk of James Taylor and Jackson Brown, The Bridge Band delivers wonderful songs that result in a very worthy artistic exhibit of the genre, especially in the opening country rock (a la Glen Frey) “One Foot Out The Door” and the ballad “You’re Everything To Me” in the style of Kenny Loggins – two of the best on the CD. The campy “Mighty Fine Mule” is one of the best among the best since, really, all the songs are above 7 points (out of 10).
Congratulations boys, on a job well done!
