Mike Wilhoit
Hello, my friend! Welcome to this site. I pray God blesses you through these songs and draws you closer to Him. Worship Him with all your heart, soul, mind and strength. He is worthy of your best! Mike
Band History:
I am a Christian songwriter/singer. I think the music basically boils down to two major themes. The first being the absolute necessity of being saved by grace through faith in what Jesus did on the Cross. You must be born again. The second major theme is to abide in Him and bear much fruit. This must be done strictly out of a deep gratitude for what He has done for us. We don't work to stay saved, but good works are the natural fruit of a true saving relationship with Jesus Christ.
Your influences?
Musically, I would say Ray Boltz, Rich Mullins and Keith Green. As far as inspiration for writing the songs, I get most of it from daily Bible study. I also read a lot of sermons from some of the great preachers of the past. My favorite ones are G. Campbell Morgan, Charles Spurgeon, John Henry Jowett, George H. Morrison, Alexander Maclaren, John Bunyan, Oswald Chambers, J. C. Ryle, James S. Stewart, Joseph Parker, Watchman Nee, Martyn Lloyd-Jones and A. W. Tozer just to name a few. Of the preachers of our day, John MacArthur and K. P. Yohannan have by far had the greatest influence on helping me focus on the things that are truly important in our Lord's eyes. I try to walk with the wise and hopefully it shows in the songs.
I would highly recommend the preaching ministry of John MacArthur to you. You can find out more about "Grace To You" at www.gty.org.
I would also like to recommend 'Gospel For Asia' to you. It is a Native Missionary Organization headed up by K. P. Yohannan. I read the free book "Revolution In World Missions" available at www.gfa.org and it changed dramatically how I view American Christianity, and my view of our responsibilities for the blessings the Lord has poured out on us.

Anything else...?
I'll leave you with these words from Paul in Philippians 1:9-11 And this I pray, that your love may abound still more and more in knowledge and all discernment, that you may approve the things that are excellent, that you may be sincere and without offense till the day of Christ, being filled with the fruits of righteousness which are by Jesus Christ, to the glory and praise of God.
Music
This is a version of the song "The Night After The Day Of Grace" that includes the song introduction at the beginning.
I heard Rich Mullin's version of this old Fanny Crosby hymn and it touched my heart immediately. I had to do a guitar and vocal version of it. I hope you're blessed by it. Mike
"Grace so amazing, all my life renew. Take these eyes grown blind and make them see..."
"I just want to serve you with devotion, unblemished by these earthly sins. I want to go to Heaven to serve You like You deserve."
We are here to ABIDE in God's presence and His Word. That will result in us bearing much fruit - which will result in His Father and our Father being glorified. That's it. That's the Christian life. Come in through the narrow gate and ABIDE.
"Why should I let you in Heaven? He heard the Father say..."
"Have I had so many blessings I no longer count the cost? Have I grown too familiar to the cross?"
"A dad who thanks the Lord each day for his precious girl - A daughter who believes there’s none like him in this whole world..."
This is a guitar and vocal only version of "A Daughter and Her Dad"
"A simple song of praise, may the angels sing along this song written just for You. A simple song of praise, may it serve to make You smile, may You smile every time it's sung for You."
This is an introduction with some insights into the song "I've Seen Him".
Romans 1:20 For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead, so that they are without excuse,
Psalms 46:10 Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth!
I like to refer to this song as "The Gospel in 4 minutes". It is forever dedicated to one of the men the Lord has used to influence me greatly, Bill Bailey. Bill Bailey came Home on April 12, 2002. His influence lives on.
This is a personal arrangement of the Fanny Crosby classic "Pass Me Not, O Gentle Savior". The song features my son, Daniel, on the harmonica and Stephanie Irwin singing with me on vocals.
1 Samuel 16:7 But the LORD said to Samuel, "Do not look at his appearance or at the height of his stature, because I have refused him. For the Lord does not see as man sees; for man looks at the outward appearance, but the LORD looks at the heart."
"Away from the line that runs between this world and holiness..."
With no need for questions, I will know You
Like You’ve known me all this time.
No longer walking by faith but by sight.
"And when all else fails it is enough. This is love, this is love."
This is an introduction with some insights into the song "A Lamb Caught In The Thorns".
"There is only one way out of here, one way to be reborn. There has to be a Lamb caught in the thorns."
"The passion of a heart on fire that breathes from Heaven’s air..."
"We all thank God for the way that He helps us get things done..."
"Lord, I come to offer You my praise..."
