Well the band used to be called RUST but feeling that this name was a little too generic and also that there are a slew of bands out in lala land with the same name, the band knew it was a matter of time before the name was changed. But the question was to what?? Each member tried bringing possible names to the table only to realize that the final name change was not going to be forced and that they would 'know' or come to a sudden realization of what the name would be when the time was right. So goes the following short story. The band was too start recording their 2nd demo cd only to arrive at the place of recording with problems. Pissed off at the situation (which we will not cover all the details that went down that day in the studio) the band left the studio to head back home and figure out what to do and where to record their follow up demo. Running into bumper to bumper traffic, (which only added to the agitation) 2 members took a detour through a neighborhood either one knew and as they were driving along the road saw an old broken down, beat up, abandoned looking shack with an old beat up sign barely hanging off the front of it, with pieces missing. The sign read "Camptangle". Then suddenly everything made sense and the realization took place. I guess we felt like that place did that day and if you could take a picture of our insides, it was that sign and the aura of that place. What really caught our attention after the fact was the imagery that CAMPTANGLE brought to mind. CAMPTANGLE has become a place, a state of mind, a feeling, a dwelling where our thoughts, energy, and musical exploration resides. It is where you go to get away and a place full of realizations smacking you in the face on many levels....emotionally, physically, and mentally....and so.... welcome to CAMPTANGLE

Yes the band plays live and if we didn't what would be the point of being in a band anyway?
The band has been playing mostly Long Island shows (both Nassau and Suffolk counties). We have played in Brooklyn and will be breaking into Manhattan, Queens as well as Boston, Philly and the tri-state area. If you've ever been out of NY and to Boston especially you might already know that the music scene in these other places are thriving and the general attitude is different. We basically just wanna explore different places and not keep our music a secret.

It really makes music more accessible and easily delivered worldwide. From a band perspective, it is a great way to market and promote.
