Everett is comprised of four members with a heartfelt passion for music. Together, with their widespread musical tastes and influences, they create a unique and powerful sound. Melodic guitars and piano, crisp and soaring vocals, and a tight rhythm section are just a few elements that make up the Everett sound.
Why this name?
When the band was formed Ron was doing some local gigging with a couple of friends under the name "Everett." After that project dissolved and Ron and Bryan met they decided that "Everett" would would be the perfect name for their new project with Charles. Ron had originally picked it because the name was simply a neutral entity. Too many bands have tried to sum up their entire purpose or mission in a name. We hope that the music speaks for itself.
Do you play live?
We've performed at numerous bars and clubs in the Cleveland/ Akron/ Kent/ Canton, Ohio area. Our favorite venues include The Lime Spider in Akron, The Hi Fi Club in Cleveland, and AMP in Akron. We've enjoyed sharing the stage with many amazing acts such as Copeland, Koufax, The Lonely Hearts, Anathello, Saxon Shore, The Liars Academy, Red Wanting Blue, Son, Ambulance, The Winston Jazz Routine, Bleach, and many many more.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
I think it encourages a sense of community. We are all working together to make a living doing what we do or just enjoying each others music. The internet and websites like Soundclick, Purevolume, and Myspace.com all encourage artists to network and give music fans the ability to make new friends and find new yet to be discovered talent.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Yes... or an indie label that believed in our music. A band is more likely to find a family willing to get behind their creative vision at an independent record label. Many times major labels scout independent labels for new acts that have already experienced some industry development. Indie labels give bands the chance to get used to the business and are a great place to get a dedicated fan base of true music lovers.
