Why this name?
The name Ready For The World was extracted from the song "Ceramic Girl" which appeared on our first album release. The phrase described the ceramic girl as "So nonchalante, laid back and Ready For The World". We felt that our music was ready for the world.
Do you play live?
When we perform, it's always live. No vocal sampling or music synchronizing. Strictly live play is what we've done for years and will continue to do. We play to audiences worldwide and love every moment of it.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
The Internet and other technological advances in music have allowed every artist to freely express their musical talents to the world and has leveled the monopoly the record industry once enjoyed. Ownership of the artist's works can now be retained.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
We'd sign with a major label if they were committed to marketing and promoting our brand, not just our band. We write, produce, engineer and perform as artist.
Band History:
Our discography can be accessed at http://www.readyfortheworld.net/discography.html
Your influences?
Parliament, Earth Wind & Fire, Cameo, The Ohio Players, Stevie Wonder, (and) Michael Jackson.
Equipment used:
We operate from our individual studios. Each member of the band uses a range of equipment that consist of either Pro Tool, Sonar or Logic digital recording software on the MAC or PC platforms. Although we still use keyboard modules, softsynths are becoming more prevalent in our tool set. We collaborate either during collective studio sessions or by sending track bundles to one another to contribute to each other's ideas.
