A phenomenal blend of beautiful, string-driven acoustic music from Angie Jackson and Maggie Daly sums up JACKSON DALY.
This Chicago-based duo features percussive rhythm guitar and mesmerizing vocals. JACKSON DALY is being recognized for their magical chemistry, infectious melodies and saucy lyrics.
Having been compared to Dido and Sarah McLachlan, lead vocalist Maggie Daly has an extensive musical background and prides herself on her incredible multi-octave range. Self-taught guitarist Angie Jackson has been stunning audiences with her tight, percussive rhythm guitar and distinctive fingerpicking method since 1998. Leah Meyer has lent her heartfelt and sometimes haunting cello to many of Jackson Daly's songs, helping create a unique sound that has been described as "very smooth with strong lyrics." They have also played with many other talented musicians in the past, adding lead guitar, bass guitar and background vocals.
Angie and Maggie have compiled an impressive variety of original songs with catchy hooks. They write about everyday topics that people of all ages can relate to, which is apparent in their growing fan base that ranges from children to senior citizens. They met in Chicago in 2000 during a party Maggie was having, celebrating an internship she had finished at Chicago's renowned Goodman Theatre. Angie was invited by a mutual friend to come to the party to jam out. The moment Angie heard Maggie sing, she turned to her friend and said "that girl doesn't know it yet, but I'm going to get her to sing with me." The two hit it off, wrote 30 songs in 30 days, Angie moved to Chicago, and the rest is history.
JACKSON DALY is making a name for themselves in Chicago, Los Angeles and The Midwest.
