Hi; I'm a writer-arranger of diverse styles, but mostly adult-oriented pop and classical material. The instrumentations are mostly for acoustic band and orchestra, sometimes together. Moods range from upbeat to reflective. All tracks are full productions.
Why this name?
It's my name.
Do you play live?
As a writer I don't play live. Most of the material could be played live with appropriate scoring or arrangement, but mostly I write to appease the Muse.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
I think the internet in general allows collaborations to occur which otherwise wouldn't happen. MP3 enables the whole 'self publish' paradigm and allows composers and bands to get their music out there for very little cost.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Yes.
Band History:
I have been playing music for as long as I can remember, beginning with piano at an early age. I studied orchestral percussion through school and college, and began to arrange pop music and themes. About 6 years ago I began to write my own material, and this has progressed from simple upbeat tunes to full score and orchestration.
Your influences?
The great instrumental composers and bands, like David Foster and J Michael Verta are my greatest influences. I also like the tight sound of Acoustic Alchemy. Film composers like John Williams and Hans Zimmer also have a great influence on my writing, particularly in the more expansive orchestrations. My listening tastes are eclectic, ranging from the Beatles through Dire Straits and some of the more modern, heavier stuff, provided it's had some thought and skill put into it.
Favorite spot?
North Yorkshire, UK.
Equipment used:
2 x Dell Digital Audio Workstations, Roland A90, Yamaha GF12/12, Sony PCM DAT, Technics C/R monitoring,
