Why this name?
Its was a statement to play on words with my first name Arthur....as in the state of my music career. As in where I am now in my "Music State Of Mind".
Do you play live?
I use to play drums live on the Midwest circuit with a Bootsy Collins funk group name "MICOWAVE". base out of Cincinnati,Ohio. I loved the on stage hype of entertainment but know I'am more focus on writing hit songs.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
It open the market for all musicians to get there material heard that would others wise go thru years of red tape and never be exposed to the
degree of having it on the internet for all to hear.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Yes if the contract would allow to keep my publishing rights.
Band History:
Born and raise in St.Louis, Missouri my music life started 1976 as a High school drummer and church drummer with neighborhood band. "U.F.O"...UNIFIED-FUNK-OPERATION. Going to the U.S.Army 1980 after high school I kept a band on every military base I was station on, Ft.Gordon Ga. the "TELE-COM BAND". From there I was station in Hawaii at Scholfield Barracks. We form a band name "ENTERPRISE". After a Honorable discharge from the service I move back home to St.Louis Mo. 1983 I got right back on the circuit with a very well known musician Kenneth Black(bass-player) my very good friend I consider my little brother. Filling in on drums some nights for a St.Louis group "THE HIT BAND" I was able to show my skills in nightclubs on the Riverfront Landing of The Arch in downtown St.Louie. Move to Cincinnati in 1985 and landed a job playing drums for Bootsy Collins group name " MICOWAVE. From that group I sang lead & back-up vocals with a group name "VELOCITY" which was made up ex-members of the Parliament Funkedalic, Zapp & Roger and Stephanie Mills bands. After working the circuit for 2 years, Charles Davis(bass-player) and myself broke away and form "MONTAGE" a recording studio team. This project produced original music and gave various artist in the Cincinnati area that desire to write there own hit songs.
