Why this name?
Bruce had an amp when he was a kid. A Peavey Decade. When his first group was trying to choose a name, someone pointed at the amp. Seemed to work for everyone so that was that. The 401 attached to the name is the Trans Canada Hwy (401) that we all live beside. A long and winding road across our great country, a road we all dreamed of touring on. We go a lot of questions about that added number to the name. It was a pretty good idea in hind sight, folks never forgot the bands name as a result. Besides, we had a huge banner that read Decade with the -401- under the name at all the live shows.
Do you play live?
Yes but not right now. Everyone got real serious around 97/98. Married, kids, jobs - ugh, responsiibility. LOL Just kidding. Its all good but we hope to get back to the music and playing live very soon.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
Its come back to the art and less about the money. Still, at the end of the day, it becomes about business. It can be a great launch pad for new groups if they employ all the net has to offer. I also think its a great way to advertise your stuff. If you are good, people will likely come and see you live.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Sure. I'd rather write and sell my songs to a performing artist though.
