X-34:We're better than The Boogens!!!!

Taking the best elements of their favorite bands and blending them together, X-34 creates a sound all of their own. Within each song you can hear several influences and styles. Most notably, there are guitar solos, something that has been called dead many times over. X-34 is proof the metal is indeed still very alive and kicking and that a good solo will never go away.

Shawn-Vocals, guitars
Mick-Bass, vocals
JC-Guitar, no vocals
Scott-Drums, occasional vocals
Why this name?
Band origins date back 6+ years when the band was known as Gilded Martyr. Dissatisfied with things, the band broke up and Shawn(guitar, vocals) went on to form Face34, named for the bass player's striking resemblance to face number 34 on the create a wrestler mode of Wrestlemania 2000 for N64, with Scott(drums) and Dave(bass). After breaking up and reforming several times, it was decided another guitarist was needed. Enter JC, a young punk from the University of Toledo with 8 years playing experience. So sure that he was gonna join the band, he ripped the flyer down from the bulletin board. The new Face34 lineup was complete. However fate entered again when Dave decided to leave to pursue other projects and Shawn called a familiar player to join. Mick, originally in Gilded Martyr joined the "new" Face34 and played bass. Since Dave, the reason the band was named Face34 had left, it was decided that a new name was needed. Hence, X-34. Is it a jet, is it a metal band, is it a futuristic killing machine? Only time will tell.
Do you play live?
Yes. We rock live. It's always fun.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
It offers would be career garage bands world exposure.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
If they meet our needs as a group.
Band History:
All the boys in X-34 bring with them several years and different band's worth of experience. Shawn and Mick played together in an earlier version of the band called "Gilded Martyr." That band broke up and Shawn began jamming with Scott. They formed a band called "Face34." After a few months, second guitar player, JC was added to the mix. Original bass player, Dave, left the fold in fall of 2001. Needing a replacement, Shawn called up a familiar face, Mick, to join the squad and that is the current lineup. So think of this lineup as Gilded Martyr 2002 with all new songs.
Your influences?
Each member has specific influences. But overall, here are a few styles: 80's era Metallica, Thrash Metal, Speed Metal.

Shawn digs Metallica
Mick digs Type O Negative
JC digs Pantera
Scott digs KISS
Favorite spot?
none yet.
Equipment used:
Shawn plays a Flying V, just like that guy from that one band. JC plays a signature Red demon-like guitar that you can't even find online if you tried. Mick plays a black evil bass. All 3 boy wonders use Peavey Amps. Scott beats Pearl drums and Zildjian Cymbals.
