aquarelle
NEWS   The second release of aquarelle, entitled - "era uma vez uma cortina..." (portuguese title that translates to "once, there was a curtain...") is now available. It's a multimedia work which features seven instrumental tracks and images illustrating each of the seven episodes of the short story with the same title, that serves as a link between the different medium expressions. It's a story told behind a curtain, not only with words, but also with sound and image that dilates the perspectives of the viewer/listener/reader. This work is available on http://www.aquarellenet.com/eraumavez.htm

aquarelle is a portuguese musical project, created in 2003 by Luís Couto, who previously worked under the name Moving Coil.
In aquarelle, unlike Moving Coil, Luís Couto focus himself more on the creation of instrumentals, while the vocals and most of the vocal melodies are left to the care of guest singers.
Why this name?
aquarelle's music is like watercolours, painted with the brushes of its members sensibilities and the colours of their inner worlds.
Band History:
aquarelle is a portuguese musical project, created in 2003 by Luís Couto, who previously worked under the name Moving Coil.
In October of 2003, aquarelle finished its first recording - the demo "ten postcards to her ghosts/ten postcards from his ghosts", which features Mara Neves (who had previously appeared on one Moving Coil song) on the vocals of its three tracks. This first demo received good airplay on portuguese radios and enthusiastic reviews, figuring on some lists of "best of the year 2003". During 2004, Mara left, but Susana Mota (paintings) and Rui Almeida (sounds and guitars) were added. In April 2004, a multimedia work (which features a short story, music and illustrations) - "era uma vez uma cortina..." - was completed and made available through the web at www.aquarellenet.com/eraumavez.htm. During 2004, aquarelle will make some installations in Portugal with "era uma vez uma cortina..." in places to be announced.
