The Psychodillos Good Vibe Jams for the Discerning Listener Dan Carpenter - Saxophone, Richard Denson - Drums, Eric Dockery - Bass & Vocals Brad Martin - Guitar & Vocals Randy Wall - Keyboards & Vocals Psycho - (Greek psychE) -, soul, life, breath, from psychein - to breathe. Dillo - (Greek dEloun) - to show, to make visible, from (dElos) evident. The Psychodillos are a blend of rock, funk, Gospel, R&B, jazz, and pop music, a must see for JamBand fans. The Psychodillos provide quality jams that are creative and intellectual, but so much more. The Psychodillos convey an emotional expression often absent from progressive, purely intellectual music. The music of The Psychodillos is improvisational at heart. Where action is a beginning point, it is reaction and interaction that lead to life?s most incredible and beautiful moments. Most of The Psychodillos music is based on simple songs, with a structured framework and lyrics based on human experience and spirituality. At each performance, the songs are given an opportunity to breathe and become, which is why on any given night a song may be several minutes longer or shorter than it was on the previous night. Even traditional music purists will be excited when The Psychodillos turn off all of the effects and play an all acoustic set. Members of The Psychodillos have shared the stage with such notable acts as RAQ, The Edgar Winter Group, Billy Cobham, Bo Didley, Alice Cooper, Jason Bonham, The Artemus Pyle Band, Kenny Neal, Conrad Johnson, Jr. Medlow, Ted Nugent, Bobby Blue Bland, Oscar Perry, Southern Drawl, Ian Moore, Andy Williams, Roy Head, Carolyn Wonderland, Moses Guest, Brian Wakeland of Polyphonic Spree & Tripping Daisy, and more. The Psychodillos formed in the fall of 2003 when Brad could no longer stand doing anything other than creating music that jams. His first call was to Richard Denson, old friend and former band mate, who was on board with nothing more than verbal confirmation. Brad met Dan, when both were hired by mutual friend Don Witt to play at an acoustic gig. Dan and Brad immediately clicked, and within a few weeks the first Psychodillos jam session was scheduled. At the jam, Dan, Richard, and Brad gelled well enough to consider pursuing this as a band. The first gig was scheduled and performed within a month. Brad met Eric at an open mic/jam hosted by friend Stevie Muree of Beryl Grady. Eric and Brad approached the stage together as strangers and walked off the stage as life long friends. The two clicked like PB&J and within a week, Eric had made one practice and performed his first show with The Psychodillos. Randy Wall joined the band in September 2004, rounding out the band's sound with the addition of keyboards a plenty and improvisational skills that are second to none. Since the fall of 2003, the Psychodillos have generated a buzz in and around Texas as a great band. They were invited by The Rhythm Room and Tapir Productions to open up for national touring (Bonnaroo 03) band, RAQ, out of Vermont. Based in Houston, Texas, the Psychodillos are already playing road shows throughout Texas, Louisiana, Oklahoma, & Arkansas, with plans for a national tour in the near future.
