play lo-fi play hi-fi  Cantate Domino
I just want to play good music; not only for myself but also for others. I want to be able to express myself through lyrics and music with nothing holding me back from honesty in its content. I believe people truly want honesty, and I hope that people like/love/appreciate my music because of it.
Why this name?
Blue Paper Hat may not end up being the name; another possibility is With Sincerity.
Do you play live?
I haven't yet but maybe someday. Playing live is an experiance like no other, and I would love to perform BluePaperHat songs live.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
It gives the unsigned artist a chance to be heard, and it gives the listener a chance to hear a band before they pick up a shitty ass CD.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
I don't know. When that time comes then I'll decide.
Band History:
Well, lets see; I started out as the lead vocals for the hardcore band While Hope Slept (www.geocities.com/whilehopeslept) out of North Bend, WA. I was the vocalist for about 4 years but then for some stupid ass reason I quit the band. After that I started writing songs on guitar and started working on a novella, and lyrics for the new stuff. Then I trashed all that stuff, except the novella, and started playing guitar more, and more and more; and I started writing better lyrics, and her I am now.

There will be more history once I get a definate drummer, bassist, and another guitarist.
Your influences?
Musicians and bands tend to be influenced by what they have been listening too at any given time and by their "faves". I've been listening to Kasabian, U2, Oasis, the Bravery, Snow Patrol, Hatebreed, Fear Factory, and Bright Eyes. My "fave"/all-time favorite bands would include Everclear, Weezer, Rage Against the Machine, U2, the Smiths/Morrissey, and the Cure.
Favorite spot?
Clarence Center Coffee Co. in Clarence Centre, NY; Seattle (U-District and Broadway); Chicago, Sacramento
Equipment used:
Usually I play on a Applause AA14 Acoustic Guitar, and I use a Audix microphone with a 20ft Monster Cable.
