NOTE: Dross is currently no more. As there seems to be some (online) confusion, I think I should finally take the time to update this page and confirm the fact that Greg Euphrat is no longer living. This means that all the Dross music there will ever be has already been recorded.

sorry for the delayed official update.

D.E.

We are Dross, a very heavy experimental metal band from southern Arizona. Dross consists of Daniel Euphrat on guitar, bass, keyboard, and synth, Greg Euphrat on vocals, synth, and very occasionally guitar. We play intense industrial metal like very little else out there.

Hear us on UndeRadio at http://www.underadio.com/ or the Mosh Pit Hell station at Metalzone Radio http://metalzone.us/ Stand by for our official website, which is under construction at http://www.projectdross.com

Do you play live?
We don't play live at this point, seeing as how we don't have the necessary equipment to reproduce much of the synth we use live. This may change in the future.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
Despite all of the screams of agony the RIAA has been letting out recently, I think that the internet will work much like radio did to boost CD sales... as long as CDs remain reasonably priced and come with lyrics and other materials to make their purchase worthwhile and bands remain capable of producing more than one hit. Is this a good thing? Not necessarily. Is it a good thing for record companies? Of course.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
This is not the kind of music that gets contracts with major record labels, but even if it were I would be very hesitant to risk being in a position where someone else could dictate what type of music we have to write or how frequently we have to produce songs.
Band History:
Dross formed in 2003 from two members of the unsigned death metal influenced hardcore band Entropy (formerly Apocalyptic Omen).
Your influences?
We are influenced primarily by The Dillinger Escape Plan, Pig Destroyer, Cephalic Carnage, Red Harvest, Meshuggah, Candiria, Ephel Duath, King Crimson, and occasionally heavy industrial along the lines of Blutengel.
Favorite spot?
Who the hell cares???
Equipment used:
We use primarily Cakewalk Home Studio, Magix Audio Studio Generation 6, and Goldwave for our synthesized effects and as recording software. Currently we record with a Fender amplifier, and guitars are downtuned to C
