Convergent Vision is about fusion, fusion of jazz, classical and electronica.
Why this name?
Convergent refers to a coming together of different musical styles, particularly jazz, classical and electronica.
Do you play live?
Not generally. My music is often the result of many months of compositional work. So I put most of my energy into composing and perfecting the sound in my home studio.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
The Internet has helped make music making more democratic. You can publish your musical ideas and have an instant audience without depending on middlemen to manage the selection and distribution process.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Sure, the marketing and exposure you get from a major label can't be easily replicated on the net.
Band History:
My serious attempt to get music onto the net started when I acquired my Korg Triton in 2000, and then got Cubase in 2001. I joined mp3.com sahortly after and had my first online CD sales in late 2002.
Your influences?
Classically, my influences include composers like Beethoven who had a strong sense of form. Sonata form is an important organizing principle for me.
Jazz fusion artists like Miles Davis, and jazz/funk in general, are also influences. In terms of Electronica, artists like the Chemical Brothers and Emerson Lake & Palmer have provided inspiration.

Favorite spot?
I love national parks. My favorite are Yosemite and Death Valley. But I also love big cities, especially New York, Chicago, and LA.
Equipment used:
I play a Korg Triton proX, and use Cubase as my MIDI software.
