diefaktorei is a gothic/industrial music project that blends emotional introspective lyrics with electronic music with guitar and bass.
Why this name?
The name was inspired by Andy Warhol, who named his place of work the factory. I just gave it a little German twist.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
I started buying CD's again, but converting them to mp3.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Sure
Band History:
In 1999 I moved to Atlanta, GA and met many interesting people that influenced me to get started with diefaktorei. In the past I've worked with others in a music situation and this was the first time trying it alone. In the future possibly more collaborations
Your influences?
I am influenced by anything that is gothic/industrial/ebm as well as other influences in electronic music and rock music.
Favorite spot?
Right now I like Pittsburgh and Cleveland.
Equipment used:
I use real bass and guitar, a drum module, and software such as Reason 3. Some of the samples I use come from other electronic instruments I have lying around.
