Hey urm were as shadows fade from Nottingham england...
Why this name?
We chose it by looking through album booklets and sets of lyrics by bands we like, urm i cant remember which ones, i think one was "all hallows EP" by afireinside and another was "when 20 summers pass" by shelter
Do you play live?
urm.. weve played a couple of real small gigs, and were trying to get our asses in gear and organise some more, but were all super lazy..we have some shows coming up in febuary...so watch out x
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
Yeh i think it gives many more people access to different music, some is hard to buy in record shops if the bands are kinda underground, and speaking from a 17 year olds perspective, we dont have loadsa money lying around to go out and buy over-priced albums, you can also sample music before you buy it...urm at the end of the day i think it shows the true colour of a band or artist if they start whining on about losing money through MP3 download sites...
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
probably, i dunno if we'll ever be quite that good, but i think people who call bands sell outs have a major problem, bands dont have much control over the prices their albums sell at in shops.. and if a major label approaches you its because youre obviously good enough to be approached...does that make sense? well to me it does?! Band History:
As Shadows Fade is:
[ . Simon Hicks . ]
(Vocals, 2nd Guitar)
[ . Chris Dale . ]
(Lead Guitar, Backing Vocals)
[ . Jamie Ball . ]
(Bass, Backing Vocals)
[ . Michael Welbourn . ]
(Drums)
As Shadows Fade started on 12th March 2002, originally called Idle Minds with Michael as drummer, we then changed to Free Nation and Hannah joined as new drummer a few weeks later.
Since then we played one or two really small bad gigs, learnt some covers and wrote a few of our own songs.
On 8th April 2003 Hannah quit so we were left with no drummer.
We decided to use this as a new start so thats why there's the new name and the new site.
Our latest songs that we wrote we will keep but the odler ones aren't going to be used anymore, also some of the covers will be ditched.
On 27th June 2003 we had our first practise with Michael back as the drummer, he's a hell of a lot better than the first time and the new lineup is looking like the best ever.
We've already completed a few songs and will be practising a lot to finish as many more as possible in a short time.
Hopefully we'll finish enough songs to start gigging during the summer and record a demo too if we can afford it, it's all looking good again.
Keep checking back for updates.

Your influences?
urm i think we all have different influences, as a band we all listen to anti-flag, urm ..we try to write our lyrics about things/issues which directly affect us, we dont just write abut made up girls and relationships..read into it im sure youll see.
Favorite spot?
hmmmm most definitely NOT Nottingham...
Anything else...?
We all believe that punk isnt the way you dress, or how you act (necessarily) its stemmed from the ideas in your head...
