CONSTELLATIONS album review:
"....throughout 'Constellations' the melodies are laced through with darker minor tones, or spiced with touches of fairground surrealism. Composer Richard Wileman has the deft touch that makes simple, mellow classical musings into haunting, emotionally rich dreamscapes. 'Constellations' has a timeless quality, and a sense of taste that you can take anywhere ... all of the ambivalent, wistful and slightly strange Victoriana of very early Genesis - especially the ghostly guitar work of solo Steve Hackett. Indeed, the album finishes with a Hackett cover, 'Twice Around The Sun'. Unlike many recent neo-classical recordings, most intrumentation appears to be the real thing, including oboe, flute, violin, cor anglais, and choir. 'Constellations' is pretty much that soaring, uplifting part of old school English prog, distilled out from all the rest and concentrated into six tracks. Karda Estra's best album yet; darkly mellow, not-quite-easy listening that I suspect will be embraced by more than the progressive underground." SEAN WORRELL, ORGAN
