Yes, well, I'm a longtime MP3.com artist, just moving my stuff over here before they shut down MP3.com. A shame to see what happened to them. Please pardon all the boxes and stuff. I haven't finished unpacking.

Naw, I'm strictly a living-room composer these days. I'll be happy to get up and do some karaoke, though.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
The Internet has given the suits in the music industry a bit of peptic upset, so far. I still hold out hope that the indy influences of the Internet/MP3 scene can kill a few dinosaurs. But I'm not holding my breath -- Britney f***ing Spears and her ilk are butchering music and popular musical tastes daily. MTV has changed the focus away from music to what looks good in a video and is easily marketable.
On the upside, the availability of the indy artists have never been greater, so if you're so inclined, you can just ignore the machine and find new good stuff, direct from the artist.

Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
What, and get screwed by a label? No thanks. Besides, which, I do better as a programmer and sys admin than I would as a musician.
