THE NEW CD - AMALA - We R 1 - EXTREME COLLABORATIOS DUE OUT IN THE SUMMER OF 2007 - AMALA is a Dance/Pop/Rnb/Hip Hop/Funk Singer/Songwriter/Performer/Producer who has opened for such artists as Jennifer Holliday, Martha Wash,Shawn Colvin, worked with Heart and Jazz Great and 4 time Grammy Nominated Jazz and Blues Singer Ernestine Anderson. I am currently working on a soundrack for a movie, the new CD We R 11 - Extreme Collaborations, a Mini tour Summer of 2007. The Lyrics to STRONG were used by New York Times Best Selling Author Constance O'day Flannery in her new book Best Laid Plans. 2006 was a great year and it's lookin' like 2007 with the new CD being written now will be even better with the new tour coming in the Summer.
It is truly a wonderful and amazing experience to work with such a diverse group of Musicans and Artists. With this new CD Every Genra will be included in nearly every song. So i guess its more of a Fusion Experiment than anything but these artists are TRULY AMAZING.
I would like to thank you Mike for the photo work the New CD COVER yet to come. The new photo shoot and all the incredible work you do and for your friendship. Say hi to Tom for me.

The fact that you chose my song STRONG to put in your book when you could have chosen from thousands of Major label signed and Legendary artists, well there is not one word that would truly show you how much Gratitude I have for the give you have given me and continue to give. You are an inspiration and a wonderful friend.

AMALA is a BUDDHIST term meaning your UNLIMITED POTENTIAL or your INHERANT BUDDHA NATURE.
Do you play live?
Some of my greatest momemts were working with HEART and Jazz Great ERNESTINE ANDERSON. HEART has been nominated for 5 Grammy's and ERNESTINE has been nominated for 4 Jazz vocalist Grammy's and a BEST JAZZ LB Grammy. MARTHA WASH is a kick in the pants, what a fun person to hang out with. Opening for JENNIFER HOLLIDAY was AMAZING not only a GRAMMY WINNER but also A TONY AWARD WINNER for Dream Girls FROM BROADWAY. Looking to Tour in the Spring and Summer of 2007.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
If offers unsigned artists the opportunity to be heard and to sell material. It has given me the opportunity for Movie Soundtracks and numerous Record deals. Currently getting ready for MY FIRST SOLO Release of AMALA - STRONG.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
I am currently seeking a Major Label deal and have interest from Major Labels as well as Independents. I am also interested in placing material with Major Recording Artists.......I am also an ASCAP Member and have my own Publishing Company. Forming My own Record Label in the Spring of 2007.

Your influences?
My Biggest influences are 70s and 80s Rnb and Rock. I like to learn from all areas of music. Working with HEART really helped in production and harmonies. Today I am happy to be doing what I love the most and that is making the kind of music I want to make.
Favorite spot?
The Ocean. Seattle Washington and Hawaii.
Anything else...?
I hope you enjoy what you hear, this is only a small sample of what I have, as I am continuously working on new and fresh material.
