They are driven by a love for music, a love for one another and their faith. They are best described with the broad genre of melodic hardcore with the incorporation of beauty and ambience. These are five ambitious guys with honesty in their minds and honor in their hearts. This is A Closing Skyline.
Why this name?
Take nothing for granted. Nothing is forever.
Do you play live?
Playing live is life. We love it. All shows are special moments.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
It's great for independent groups to get their name out and such. However, it can be a negative thing, because those independent bands, or small label bands, don't have major label support. Support your independent artists. Go to shows and buy their records. The fans are the only means of support.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
It depends on a great deal of factors.
Band History:
The five piece melodic hardcore band hails from Charlotte, North Carolina. Their sound can best be defined as hardcore/metal transcending into beautiful melodies at most critical points. A Closing Skyline also utilizes their music with positive and faith driven messages giving them severance from the conventional expressions in music today. Since their formation in 2002 they have recorded and released a 5 song demo (2002) and one full length CD entitled “The Close Day of Promise” (2003). After undergoing trivial line up changes the band is ready and excited with their follow up EP entitled “An Autograph of Our Own Extinction.” The recording even more illustrates the maturity of the band lyrically and musically. The EP is set for release in December 2004 on Divisional Media Recordings.
