The Alliance is the premier hip hop group coming straight out of The Winston-Salem, NC. The Alliance is 3 MC's, Mz. Nokz, Jon Blaq, Seventh Sign, and backed by DJ/Producer J.Lone.
Why this name?
The name The Alliance speaks for itself. It came about from a pool of names. J.Lone choose The Alliance because it stood for a group of people coming together for one cause. That's what we are. We came to bring a quality to hip hop that has been scarce in the game except for a few artist.
Do you play live?
Yes, we play live, and look to play as much as possible in the near future. We've played at Candlelights in High Point, NC, PS 211 and the Formula all in Winston-Salem. We have shows lined up in SC that we're looking forward to and hopefully some other spots through the south and up the coast.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
The internet when used properly is an asset. It's a promotional tool. We are allowed to reach people that aren't in the areas where we do shows. You never know who's logging on to hear mp3's of unsigned artist.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
If it's to our advantage of course. To date the record contracts we've been offered would've made us slaves to the lable. We thank our attorney for saving us from those situations.
