Why this name?
Sharon Brooks was born originally on the small Caribbean island of Barbados. Upon her introduction to the scene she carried her birth name, however, found it long, would often be mis pronounced and there is a country artist with that name also. So Sharon Brooks became s.h.a.r.(o).n.
Do you play live?
s.h.a.r.(o).n backed by her band FUSION can be seen regularly in Montreal and Toronto.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
The internet has definately made music more accessible to both the music lover and musicians alike. Unfortunately, like everything else in life others have found away to mis-use and take advantage of this opportunity.
The introduction of MP3'has also allowed independent artist to still have a large voice on an international scale!

Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
"Absolutely!"
There is never anything wrong with doing something, just making sure you do it RIGHT! Major labels definately have the advantage of mass markets and capital.

Self-admittedly, she will always be a song/writer at heart, but there is no denying when she hits the stage.....we can't get enough of s.h.a.r.(o).n!
Your influences?
Stevie Wonder, Jill Scott, Minnie Ripperton, Sade, Sarah Vaughn, Bilie Holiday, Ella Fitzgerald, the list could go on...
Favorite spot?
I love my island, Barbados. It is truly paradise on earth. Second on the list would have to be Italy!
