You've got it tuned in to the home of singer/songwriter, Rich Bischoff. Bischoff is known for his outstanding guitar musicianship, impressive song writing, raw vocals,
and a modern sound.
and a modern sound.
Why this name?
My Parents gave me my name when I was born. :)
Do you play live?
Yes I do Play live, I play anywhere they will have me. I love it. I play in my band about every weekend at local clubs, dances, parties and weddings. Some of you may know our bass player Afu Latu.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
The music industry is probably losing money with all the free downloading. But I try not to pay to much attention to the music industry as it exists in this day and age. I think for the industry they have lost their focus, it is more about money than the music.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Depends on the contract :)
Band History:
Rich Bischoff was born in California, where he lived until he was 10 years old. His family packed up and moved to Utah at age 14. Using his paper route money, he bought his first guitar from a Sears catalog. Rich played in alot of garage bands and jazz bands in high school. In college, he played in the band "Brother Sage." Brothers Sage put out two cd's and played about every weekend at clubs and school functions. After Brother Sage broke up is when Rich really started to get into singing and playing the guitar.
In 2000, Rich decided he wanted to record his own album of songs. Rich bought a bunch of recording gear and started working on his own album. "I soon learned there was a lot more to recording than just hitting a button. Recording and mixing my own album was not easy. Not only did I have to write all the songs, I recorded, mixed, produced and arranged all the material for the CD." A year and a half later, "Mission Stories" was born.
"The CD is a collection of songs about things that have happened to me in my life, and things that I believe in. I wanted to write songs that others could listen to and relate to. " As for the future, Rich hopes to keep playing and recording good music that others can relate to.

Your influences?
In the 80's my brother introduced me to Styx, Boston, Rush, & Dokken. I love the guitar, so most the music I listen to is focused around the guitar. People who influence me now are people like John Mayer, Dave Mathew, Jars of Clay, Vertical Horizon, Dashboard Confessional, Collective Soul, Michael W. Smith, Steven Curtis Chapman, Stevie Ray Vaughn
Favorite spot?
I lived in Michigan for few years and I really liked the Lake and the lighthouses on the west side and in Northern Michigan, they have special place in my heart. Cheboygan, Holland, & St. Ignace.
Equipment used:
Taylor acoustic guitars, Fender strat, and fender amps, and an asortment of other guitars and amps and mics.
Anything else...?
I get bad breath if I sing on an empty stomach. :)
