OriginalJONES is a guitarist from the old school of music. He is a lover of all genres of music. Jazz, R&B, Reggae,Blues and Dancehall to name only a few.
Harold has done years of studying and performing with some of the country's most noted musicians.

Why this name?

Harold was the name given to me at birth,but as I grew up I went through a lot of (nicknames) finally some one told me to be original about it. I took the advice literally thus,I became OriginalJONES!

Do you play live?

I have had the pleasure of playing around the world! I'm currently playing independent gigs,and I am in the music ministry at My Church, Emmanuel Baptist Church, and St.Paul Tabernacle.

How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?

I feel Mp3's have revolutionized the music industry, making it easy to acquire and submit any song or video from the net. It really affects the artists (sometimes in negative ways) that create this material. Maybe in the coming years,these problems will be alleviated.

Would you sign a record contract with a major label?

I would sign a record contract,but I would be very cautious about it. I have to weigh the pros and cons of being involved with a record company, versus doing it independently !

Band History:

Harold Jones is a fine guitarist and musician. He has been playing around all the states for a number of years. He has studied with some of California's very best singers, musicians and teachers. Harold Jones has played in many different genres of music including: Jazz,Gospel, Soul,R&B, Dance Hall and Reggae. O.J.is now teaching music in the San Jose Ca. school systems while embarking on some solo musical projects. This CD was written and recorded entirely by OriginalJones,He played every instrument and sung every voice on the CD.It is his second totally solo album. O.J.plans to collaborate with some other very talented and gifted musicians to create and produce his third album. Harold continues to dedicate his talents to teaching children, and Church services, both at Emmanuel Baptist Church San Jose Ca, and St.Paul Tabernacle Baptist Church in San Francisco Ca. Please give his music a listen and some feedback on what you think of the direction he is traveling musically, after all, he is an OLD SCHOOL MUSICIAN!!!!
