Formed in 1997, FiRES WERE SHOT released their first record, "Form the Hearth" in the winter of the following year. They continue to self-release homemade cassettes to eager fans of all ages. They will release their second record "De-Frocked" in winter 2002.

We play in Austin every month or so. Every show has been an interesting if not special experience
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
Like everything,it has its positives and negatives. The positive aspect is that it gives
underground bands like ourselves a forum that wouldn't be available otherwise. Fans who enjoy this type of music are usually record collectors also. The drawbacks probably apply mostly to larger acts on record labels who could possibly reach a threshold of declining benefits
