Alderman
Alderman is not my real name. That is Leif Liljeqvist. I live in Stockholm, Sweden. Music is very important for me and I enjoy making songs. I hope you will enjoy my music.
Why this name?
..well....because I´m 60 and hopefully a bit wiser.
Do you play live?
When I was younger I played a guitar in a "hobby-band", we where never a commercial band.....we sounded a lot but was not that good. But we had fun!
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
Amazing way to find so many artists on the internet and share my music with others, and not being limited to the CD-stores offers any longer, that’s great!
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
To be quite honest I don´t think anyone is interested ;)
But I would love to make music to movies.....

Band History:
I started in oct 2003. Hopefully I´ve improved since then.
Your influences?
I like a wide range of music. In my opinion the most important thing making a song is that it has a good groove and a feeling. Bands that have inspired me most are Pink Floyd, Jimi Hendrix, Mike Oldfield, Vangelis, Alan Parsons, Rolling Stones, U2, Uno Svenningsson, Ravel, Bjorn Lynne and many many more......
Favorite spot?
Österlen (south Sweden). Jämtland (by the mountains in the middle of Sweden). The Alps in summertime.
Equipment used:
Edirol midi controller, Sonar Cakewalk, virtual synths, drum machine.
Mackie Mixer 1202, Schecter C-1 Elite (electric guitar) and a Gibson J-45 Acoustic Guitar.

Anything else...?
...umm....I don’t think so....
Oh yes, there is one thing I want to mention. It’s great that sites like this exists. It has been clear to me that there´s a huge amount of talented musicians on the net.
Thanks for sharing your songs !

A big change from your earlier work. I admire the versatility. The beat and rhythm are kickin seriously. Nice vocal/rap. The melody works great. Enjoyed this one.

OutSTANDing!!! :: head bobs on bouncing bod :: I LOVE the variety and every part of your arrangement on this!! Now see... this is why I gotta mark most tracks 4's... cuz when I get to tracks like this, they won't stand out like I want them to. This track? This is a fiiiiiiive star beat... the inspiration alone surpasses the number of consecutive plays I'm working on, lol. Most excellent, Leif. !!!

The tone of the vocalist is perfect for your sound. Love the panning and vocal dub fx.
A couple, few areas could've been tightened up with vocal melody (not meaning pitch, but arrangement), and again, perhaps some added warmth to the center of the vox, but otherwise a most enjoyable, perfect track. That sax? Mmmmmm!!!

A beautiful track! Everything sounded great, save a few places in the mix where I think the vocals and instrumental sounded a bit too distinct from one another. There isn't a uniformed song structure, so I give the melody highest of marks, as well as the vocalist who'd caught my ear. Production would've also received highest of marks, especially for the attractive drum pattern that at times danced wonderfully with the vocalist at an upbeat tempo, had I felt the mix was perfect. Lyrics I'm sure were superb; but I was more entranced with the overall melody, and vocal tone and nuances that I confess I wasn't really paying much attention to the lyrics. :p lol
Simply a terrific track.

Very good production. It keeps you listening as there is something new happening all throughout the recording and always each new thing still attached to the whole mood and sound. Very very good recording.

Howdy Leif...
I just returned from five weeks in Conn. with the guys in the band to find you visited our page again. I wanted to thank you personally for your really flattering comments about "THE RULES KEEP CHANGING" and "WILL THERE BE TOMORROW"...and also for actually purchasing our digital version of our CD...SPRING THAW....the ultimate compliment.
You never cease to amaze me with the diversity and texture of your music. Your productions are second to none...and SUNSET OVER THE ANDAMA SEA is no exception. Very authentic sounding Indian music...but with the Alderman stamp on it, too! I was compelled to give it a 5 Star rating...and I don't hand those out freely. Excellent work, my friend. I hope this message finds you and yours well, in Sweden.
Take care!
Hugs...Mike (NAV)
